Mother Africa Baobab Tree

Mother Africa Baobab Tree is a original 30 by 30 round Afrocentric Mixed Media Collage on Wood and Metal.  This original art piece is the artist inspiration of Great Black History Figures through history from the early days to the 20th Century. The face/tree a woman's face is molded from cardboard. The other materials use in this collage are newspaper, fabric, African beads, metal wire. The significant Maya Angelou quote written on the piece is paraphrased by the artist mother often to her family, "If you don't know where you came from, how do you know where you are going." This art work was part of the "Up Cycle Recycle Exhibit" at the Foundre in Phoenix Az , in May 2022
